Do you swear to get a relaxer until the day you die? Or are you one of those die hard naturals? For, does it matter which type of hair a woman decides to wear? Is it appropriate for a man to put chemicals in his hair?
Come out one of the most informative programs of the year, to state your opinions on these questions and much more. This is promised to be a very interactive, fun, and informative event. We will be having a small panel consisting of various views on hair. This forum will be moderated by the Associate Dean of the Veterinary School, Mrs. Paige Carmichael.
Akin Adebowale is destined for greatness. Whenever he has the opportunity to do something creative, he takes it. He works with Bryan Calhoun, who manages numerous music artists and other creative ventures. Recently, Adebowale managed the online distribution and art for a work that broke an iTunes Music Store all-time record. He has been involved with UGA’s African Student Union for more than three years in numerous capacities, and he co-produced the highest-grossing ASU event in UGA history. During his freshman and sophomore years, he walked on and scored points for the UGA Track and Field team. He is a mentor for elementary school students at Gaines Elementary School through the African Student Union’s annual Tales By Moonlight program. He has also co-directed two major service programs for ASU — the Jubilee Partners Initiative for Refugees and a book drive for the Victor Mbaba Foundation. He was part of the creation of the art studio at the Boys and Girls Club of Athens and the UGA Tribute to Otis Redding. After graduation, he plans to continue working with Bryan Calhoun.

Opeoluwa Fawole has always wanted to be a doctor.
“It’s the only career I’ve ever considered,” she said. “My parents say that when I was little, and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I never told them anything different.”
Throughout high school and into college, this love of medicine has stuck with Fawole, and her dedication toward her dream of becoming a doctor has recently been rewarded. She has become the first University student to be chosen for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Exceptional Research Opportunities Program.
EXROP is a 10-week program in which students who have demonstrated exceptional ability in the medical field are given the chance to work in one of almost 200 research labs throughout the country.
